Two days ago, it was 75 degrees and sunny. This morning we woke up to a nice layer of fresh snow. I guess Nashville isn’t quite ready to give up on winter yet.

Today I realized how much I miss this blog and just writing in general.
Well…I’ve been thinking about it for a while, it just took me this long to actually get around with it. There’s this huge sense of relief when I’m finally able to sit down and let out the words that have been swimming aimlessly around in my brain. However, there’s a whole lot of resistance from my brain when I know it’s time for me to sit down and write again. It’s a constant struggle.
Anyways, here I am. It was actually one of my New Year’s resolutions to dive into writing again but it’s apparently taken me this long to actually follow through with it. I hope to rework the blog to include a wider range of topics from what recipes I’m trying out to showing off the sights of Nashville and everything in between. Maybe if I widen my scope it’ll be easier to stay on track!
I look forward to sharing with you all and hearing from you. It’s good to be back!

This is officially one of the coolest concepts I’ve ever seen actually come to life. The idea of a group of complete strangers collaborating on a single project and something so insanely creative coming from it is exciting. After watching the first episode of hitRECord on TV on Netflix, I’m hooked. Can’t wait to keep watching.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, you’re missing out!
I’m (finally) back in the music industry. It only took me about a year to get back here. It’s one of those situations where you don’t realize you’re missing it until you’re back in it and I could not be more excited.
I got an internship with Harmon Music Management, a new company run by Rusty Harmon, who has had his fair share of music industry experience. I’ve already learned so much and can’t wait to continue on the journey. Sure, it’s not ideal that it isn’t a paid opportunity but that doesn’t make it any less exciting.
For 6 months I was out there on the job hunt. I went to Hawaii for a week, came back, and this company magically appeared where I used to get my haircut. The real question I keep asking myself is ‘why did I even look over at that building?’. I stopped as soon as the salon was gone. But that day I did and I sent an email to their info address and voila, here I am.
So for now, I’m learning and enjoying and taking everything one day at a time.
That’s how true adventures work, right?
Mindy Kaling is basically the greatest person ever.
Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but she has taught me a lot about how to be a better me. There’s an American Express commercial where she talks about how everyone always told her she would make a great ‘best friend’ but wouldn’t make it any further than that in television. Well, look at her now. The Office, The Mindy Project, Inside Out. It’s almost as if, everywhere you turn, there she is.
Besides being absolutely hilarious, she is a great role model for women everywhere. Let me tell you why.
After years of celebrities going to rehab, getting arrested, and just generally spiraling, it’s incredibly refreshing to have someone like Mindy on TV (or Hulu now, I guess). I haven’t been one to model my life after someone famous for many years now, but between Mindy and Lena Dunham, I may just start. There’s a lot to learn from strong, confident women who are following their dreams and Mindy is just one of them.
Good job, Mindy, and thank you.
I decided it was time to spread my blogging to more outlets. So, I took up a position as Digital Community Manager at a company called Waffle Social. Pretty cool place, you should check it out. Anyways, I wrote my first blog post the other day and I’m pretty proud. Let me know what you think.
“My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that.” – The Red Queen, Alice in Wonderland
New companies are developing websites and apps quicker than we can fathom. It’s all that most brands can do to stay current with the needs of their consumers, let alone their competitors. In nature they call this the Red Queen Hypothesis. Basically, as soon as an animal develops a defense, the predator develops a stronger attack which makes the other animal work even harder to adapt.

Once upon a time, the weatherman announced Nashville would be experiencing an ice storm. I laughed. Pshh, Nashville doesn’t ever actually get winter storms. Then this happened:
Well, more happened but these are the remnants left almost a week later.
I grew up in California and Florida. What is this slippery stuff that keeps causing me to fall on my butt? Why is Taco Bell closed at 10pm? I don’t understand.
Don’t get me wrong, it does excite me a little bit to see this winter wonderland outside my window. However, it’s not as much fun when you realize most of it is about 2 inches of pure ice. This is only fun when you’re wearing ice skates and listening to cheesy pop tunes. Not when you’re simply trying to get dinner.
It appears it may actually get above freezing tomorrow which is apparently exciting. Who knew 40 degrees was cause for celebration.
Fingers crossed that this ice-pocalypse disappears soon so Nashville can step out of panic mode.
Here’s to warmer days and driving at normal speeds!
Remember that time I graduated?
Yeah, I don’t.
It has been a whirlwind of job hunting and resume fixing and freelance working since that fateful day in December. Currently, nothing full time. I have been dabbling in freelance social media, though, and it seems to be right up my alley. So for the time being, it’s the closest thing I have to a job.
Basically, it means that I’m completely neglecting my own social media and blog because I’m juggling multiple other accounts simultaneously.
Remember those resolutions I set up for myself?
Yeah, not sure I do either.
Fingers crossed that one day soon my life will settle down enough that I can get back to those goals I tried setting for myself.
Until then, keep on facing fearless.
Post-grad life is a lot more stressful than it’s cracked up to be. These days I spend the bulk of my time searching for a job, interviewing, or searching online for companies and opportunities.
For those of you more seasoned in the job world, any tips?
I’m starting to lose my mind.
